Because the foot is three-dimensional, any two-dimensional measuring tool, such as a ruler or Brannock device® can only approximate your true shoe size. Please also keep in mind that manufacturers use different lasts to construct their shoes, and sizing may vary accordingly.
Note that the Brooks running shoes are all in US sizes.
Running Shoe Sizing
When deciding on size, it is important to consider the length, width and depth of your foot, as well as the shape of your foot/arch.
Running shoes are built on different shapes, therefore sizing/fit may vary between brands and between models within the same brand.
Running shoes are often different sizing to casual or dress shoes. Brooks works in USA sizing, which is larger than UK sizing. There is no "Australian" sizing, however people often mean UK sizing then referring to "Australian". Please refer to our sizing chart to work out your USA size.
Selecting a width
For women's footwear, B is the normal/standard width. 2A is narrow, D is wide, and 2E is extra wide. For men's footwear, D is normal/standard, B is narrow, 2E is wide, and 4E is extra wide.
Unisex sizing
Ladies, when ordering "unisex" shoes, order 1.5 sizes smaller than your usual women's size.
